Prologue: Three Hundred Dollars

Dad was scheduled to get in at 8pm on Sunday evening. I thought about taking him to a nice hotel by the beach, view of the ocean and all that crap, then I remembered something: a trip to Korea is not about scenery and luxury, it is about being overwhelmed by humanity! Concurrently, I booked a room at one of the nicest hotels in the city, downtown. (Vic and Weston will know this as the bustling area where I worked last year.) The room clocked in at around $300--remember this number, it will become important later. Anyhow, I checked in that afternoon and hung around until it was time to go pick Dad up.
